#18 is too high, letters are impossible to read, and it only focuses on Tolkien. IMHO a good logo should remind of Rowling and Lewis also...

2007-02-14 22:00 - geoffrey-h
What do people think of #18?
I'd just like some honest feedback. (e.g. too big, lettering too vague, etc.)

2004-10-17 21:43 - somegrrlz
#2 has always been my fav, and I'm surprised it didn't do better in this poll. Seeing it puts me into the right mood.
One might mention that the poll was started when there were only a few logos in the contest, so the newer ones might have had only a short time to receive votes, compared to others up for 1+ years.......The poll has been ongoin since there were just a few logos...

I liked 5 through 7, good and not overloaded, but I think they would have benefited a lot from a more tolkien-ish font.

2004-07-10 03:30 - WinterSoul.
I liked some and others i didn't but 7 seems to be really stylish and plain and that's what i chose to vote for

2004-07-08 04:05 - Smokey
They are all pretty good, I liked #1 and #12, but #7 was good too...hard to choose

2004-07-04 03:06 - RoboTact
the disadvandage of #1 for me is smth written about serving the needs... #6 and #7 do not contain any specific information about the site, though they can't be unpleasant. #8 with Rowling looks absurd. #5 is the best as I think, and there is something in the #12, though it is too concrete...

2004-07-02 00:02 - jimpii
Number 8 : This gives the creators credit for the art work and brilliant stories.

2004-06-26 14:47 - akiouki
I think 'magical words' has a kinda mystical ring to it..
and must admit that nr.3 brings that out the most.

2004-06-24 08:12 - Balzo
I was a little confused to see #8 logo. I mean, I do like HP books, but to put Ms Rowling _in the center_ between Lewis and Tolkien...
Come on, she has to grow up a bit to touch the guys.

2004-02-27 03:07 - karlson
yes, 7 is the winner, but we think all are nice. so seven is shown on top page more often then the others.

2004-02-25 00:52 - amarie
how much time untill there is a winner??

(i think number seven is fine)

2003-11-28 22:48 - The_One_Himself
Number 7 fits best

2003-11-22 00:01 - chucky3456
I think that 5 is pretty good, but yall should check out 10 cuz its really cool (plus I made it!)

2003-10-27 12:05 - dream
Its a close call between numbers 5 and 7, but id go for the 7 one, since it is cleaner and simpler. Runes always connect to tolkien as well...

I think number 8 just sums this site up perfectly. But suggest substituting Charles Williams for J K Rowling as he was a proper inkling and his All Hallows Eve et al should be mentioned on the site. As far as I know there are no audio files for them.

2003-07-30 16:00 - karlson
Yes, I like it too, so I have added it It's a pity XnakX forgot about it...

2003-07-24 18:40 - loopyjoe
I like XnakX's greener version of #6 at
http://www.magical-worlds.net/images/logos/mw-logo-greener.jpg

I suggest making that option 7 and see who votes for it.

Number 3 is the best.

2003-06-24 03:22 - Naurwen
They are all good, but IMHO, No. 5 is the most elegant one.

I voted for #3, I think that it reflect more the "fantasy style" of the site. But, also #6 is good.

2003-05-12 05:14 - XnakX
Many sections few submissions, although i guess having the image in more that one section is not going to hurt anything

2003-05-10 06:12 - petew89
Why don't u just put the winning logo on the main page.
And then put all the other ones on different pages

2003-05-09 01:57 - ultravioletu
hehe, i voted #4, but any of #5 or #6 would be ok for me too. maybe even both of them

2003-05-07 21:27 - XnakX
I like the "a script rotating the logo on the top page from the variants submitted with the probablity of any logo to appear equal to it's number of votes" idea althought maybe a small bit of text identifying the winning image ( and rank for the others) included in the html.

2003-05-07 09:34 - karlson
XnakX, I think your new more green logo is cool
BTW, what do you think should be done when we have the final results of the vote?
I can think of the following posibilites:
- we put the wining logo on the top page
- we put a script rotating the logo on the top page from the variants submitted with the probablity of any logo to appear equal to it's number of votes
- we put the wining logo on the homepage and other logos on the other pages of the site

2003-05-06 12:04 - CeBepuH
Hmfhm...

I voted for #6. It is simple and seems in tune with the current colours of the site.

2003-05-06 06:18 - XnakX

what do ya think - millioen?
is it too green?

2003-05-06 03:39 - smeagol
im quite suprised that some of the plainest and simplest designs seem to be the most popular.

long live our voting system

2003-05-05 23:16 - XnakX
maybe give the border more of a green hue rather than burgunday?

XnakX

2003-05-05 12:10 - millioen
I voted for #6. But it should be more greenish...

2003-05-04 16:17 - mason
Hmm.. I agree, I voted for #5 but I like #6 better now. It kind of grows on you.

2003-05-04 00:04 - XnakX
very good point (#6 is mine)
I think you gave me another idea

2003-05-03 17:46 - dhainman
I voted #6, since it did not immediately hit me as being LOTR, considering he's not the only author on the site (though certainly the primary one). It seems to me that one ought to deemphasize the movie and various inspired representations of Tolkien's work and go pure Tolkien-designed (in that case, his own elven script). True, #5 did the same, but it didn't hit the same way; if you compare the "peripheral-vision" effects (not looking right at it), #6 is more "intelligible" - you know it's not some blot on the wall.

2003-05-02 22:04 - XnakX
any opinion is valid
and i am sure that the ppl who made the designs would like to hear about them

2003-05-02 11:13 - petew89
I voted for the one I made. :P

2003-05-02 09:30 - K13PTo
They are pretty good, hard to pick one. I like #1, but it has too much glow/glare around the words and could do without the bottom message. That is just for my taste, I am no expert so do not take my opinion to heart. I voted for #6.
