| 2006-06-12 17:58 - The Phoenix Will Live Again! | | Posted by karlson | more from same (Collection news) | | | As many of you have noticed the website was mostly down for quite a long time now. The reasons are simple
- We had no time
- We lost our main hosting server
I now belive it all going to change soon (for now only Hobbit and Lotr by Inglis + Silmarillion by Shaw downloads should work (in firefox and other proper browsers, IE is not supported for now)).
If you have any ideas on hosting - please let me know.
My thanks also go to Geoffrey Hastings, who contributed a new logo (and gave me a push to remeber about this website). |

| 2004-06-26 06:20 - New logo and tolkien.perturb.org problems | | Posted by karlson | more from same (Other news) | | | Here are some news.
We have a new logo submission, from Jean. Number 11 and that's my favorite number!
But other news are quite sad. Most of the audiobooks, not ALL, but most, are hosted on the hosting space kindly donated by Scott Baker, tolkien.perturb.org. There is a limit of 15 connection in the same time to that server and it was fine for sometime, but recently the number of users connecting there (it has nothing to do with the number of online users on this webpage) was greatly increased. So most of the time you try to connect you will get error 530 - too many users are already connected. I don't have full acess to the server, so I can't do much and Scott is quite busy to help us now. We can hope the problem will be solved later, but anyway one thing is clear - we need more space to host audiobooks. If you have a possibility - please donate space. There are actually quite a lot of updates I wanted to make, but they are pending since the problems with perturb started. |

| 2004-03-06 07:35 - Farmer Giles and Other Stories, narrated by Derek Jacobi | | Posted by karlson | more from same (Collection news) | | | Farmer Giles of Ham, Smith of Wottom Major and Leaf by Niggle short stories audiobooks, narrated by Derek Jacobi were added to the collection. This stories are not about Midlle-Earth, but they are magical and great works of Tolkien's art all the same. Our great friend, anonymous contributor, did a good job on converting the tapes to mp3.
P.S. Another thing - from 9th of March till 26th of March the karlson.no-ip.com server will be shut down, sorry about that. |

See them here, and remember that more submissions are always wanted.
P.S. And don't twist the vote. I know it's easy to vote multiple times, but I don't really see a point in doing so. |
